We had sun, rain, snow, ice, wind - often on the same day. The weather forcast for the early hours of Wednesday 18th May looked promising and at 5:00am I headed out to the park from my warm room in Yosemite View Lodge.
Whilst the car park at the lodge was wet with rain the park itself was covered in a thin layer of pristine white snow which is unusual for the middle of May. I had explored the park on the previous day and noticing the clouds across the majestic rock of El Capitan I knew that there was likely a good opportunity for a photograph from the El Capitan Meadow.
I walked far across the meadow from the road and still struggled to fit the scene into my frame at 24mm... I converted the RAW file to Black and white using NIK Silver Efex Pro 2
