I recently picked up my Fuji X-T2 as an upgrade to the Fuji X-T1 that I have been using for the last two years. Over the coming days I will share my observations between the two models.
I sold my two year old Fuji X-T1 on eBay last week for £500 which is not too bad. I know that the camera is in excellent condition so the purchaser should be happy. I paid £1,300 for the X-T2 is it worth the £800 outlay?
The first thing I noticed was the feel of the X-T2 - It's slightly larger than the X-T1 and the grip and eye cup are larger and improved. I bought the EC-XT Eyecup and the MHG-XT (Large) for the X-T1 but don't think that I will need the equivalents for the X-T2
They Fixed the flimsy memory card door! - Well it's still flimsy but now it is secured with a small catch that seems to promise a reduction in accidental openings...
Autofocus is certainly much snappier. I have completed some rather un-scientific tests with my cat in the back garden and was very impressed with the results with the X-T2 capturing 100% of the 24 frames shot in perfect focus. I used the 35mm f2 @ f2 so the depth of field was pretty shallow... the cat is certainly no racehorse though :)
