Super Blood Wolf Moon

Kudos to anyone that got out of bed early enough to catch the ‘Super Blood Wolf Moon’ on the morning of 21st January 2019.

I didn’t get up and in any case London was misty with a bank of cloud. The conditions conspired to hide the cosmic event but did result in a pretty blood red sunrise over Tower Bridge and the Thames.

I did not have my Fuji X-T3 with me but fortunately the technology of smart phones continues to march on and my iPhone XS is capable of capturing a decent image.

Shot on an iPhone

I shot and edited the two images below in RAW using Adobe LR Mobile on the iPhone XS

iPhone ‘Live’ Photo - Long Exposure

I only found out recently that the ‘live photo’ feature in the iPhones gives an option to convert the captured sequence into a single photo with the look of a long exposure shot. Simply swipe up on an image taken with ‘live photo’ enabled and you can choose from live, loop, bounce and long exposure - Clever stuff. The shot below is a live photo sequence converted to use the long exposure effect. As this was hand-held I think the result has worked well.
